Socialization & Mask Reflection & DP Update
In the Socialization and Mask project, we learned about the Cycle of Socialization to better understand our society and people. We were given a choice of how we'd display our understanding in professional work with a mask we'd make to depict our identity of who we are, or what we are told to be. At exhibition, we'd show our knowledge and show everyone the cycle our society follows, and the societal issues within in.
Socialization Mask
Mask Essay - "Opposing The Cycle."
During the Cycle of Socialization project, I grew more as a writer, as seen I am able to efficiently to use evidence to support my claims. My first paragraph, I wrote about racism and how it's a prominent problem in our society, and added in the differences of target and agents and how it effects people, and used this first evidence to further deepen my statement from there on.
I'd say that one of the largest take aways from this project I took, was having the opportunity to voice my thoughts and outlooks on societal issues through a professional manner while writing my essay to help expand other people's minds, in hopes to bring more attention to our problems throughout our world. This transformed me to be more opened minded, and able to advocate respectfully for great cause.
As a worker, I set my goals to be able to step out of my comfort zone to help others out, and brainstorm and come up with original ideas. The challenges I had were stepping out to take leadership, and taking risks. I succeeded in taking leadership and risks, while my group and I worked on the artistic side of our room, since at one point we had to change our ideas to better correlate with the Cycle of Socialization.
During our preparation of exhibition, I generally worked among the artists of our group, tending to the painting and details to our room. I took out time from one class to help paint some more parts of our mural, taking the initiative to further my groups success at exhibition. I put maximum effort into our room, and as a worker among my peers, and feel as though I'd grade my effort as an A (90). I took leadership and led my group members during the part we started painting, taking the initiative to take time outta my day to spend on our room, and being able to be flexible by helping my other partners by making a poster of the Cycle if a Socialization for our door.
