For the Light Writing project, I practiced the photography technique of capturing light in a dark room. by changing the settings of my camera The process of doing so, I had turned my ISO to 100 for dark backgrounds, my aperture to 8-11 and slowed my shutter speed between 4 to 10 seconds, depending on how much light I wanted to see in my photos.
Overall, I think I enjoyed this project out of everything that I've done so far, because of the environment I had taken the photos in (the photography space), as well as the lighting at my own disposal. I liked having the choice of changing the colors, patterns, as well as peer assistance from my classmates.
Independent Photography Project
Reflection
For my Independent project, I focused on capturing life and nature on the Navajo reservation. I implemented a few of the 'basics' into this, by trying to photograph symmetry and asymmetry into a few of the photos I'd taken, mostly to emphasize the vast flat land, plants, and formations.
Overall, it wasn't too difficult to find eye catching sceneries and objects to take pictures of, but because the land is wide, and lacks pop of color, I found it hard as an artist to genuine like everything I photographed, because I value contrast, and vibrant colors.
